The iconic GTA III, arguably the game that made the Grand Theft Auto series a household name, is celebrating its 10th anniversary by re-releasing the game on Android and iOS phones and tablets.
This won’t be some watered down version on the game, this is the full monty with the original gameplay and storyline left intact. Rockstar are selling it for the small sum of $4.99.
So, if you fancy taking a trip down memory lane while on the bus to work, make sure you check out the official list of compatible devices first. It is likely that the game will work (or can be made to work ;P) on other devices, but listed below are the officially supported ones:
Apple iOS Devices: iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 4 & 4S, iPod touch 4th Generation
Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive
That’s not a very long list when you consider the sheer amount of Android phones and tablets out there. Hopefully this list will grow in time or the game will work on other, suitably powerful devices.
