The A5 – Now produced in Texas!

You will know that the iPhone 4s and iPad 2 is powered by Apple‘s A5 Chip, which is now produced in a factory owned by Samsung in Texas, Reuters reported.

Before this, Apple’s processors have mainly been produced by Chinese and Korean manufacturers.

The new plant in in Austin cost $3.6 billion, and is the same size of nine football fields (1.6 million square feet), and it produces only Apple chips.

Samsung’s factory reached it’s full capacity this month, with 1,100 workers.

This is good news for the city of Austin, where Samsung already has a NAND flash memory factory. According to the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Samsung’s factory is the largest foreign investment in Texas, worth about $9 billion.

This is good for the city in which the factory is situated – Austin, Texas. Samsung already has a NAND flash memory (Faster than standard flash memory) factory there already, worth around $9 billion dollars.

The 45 nm Apple A5 chip runs on either 800 MHz or 1 GHz clock speed, and it’s twice as powerful – according to Apple – as its predecessor, the A4.

The new Apple A5 Chip is twice as powerful – Apple says – as the last version, the A4. It will run at 800 MHz or 1GHz depending on the task.

Interestingly enough, Samsung is producing chips for Apple, although the two companies still haven’t resolved their patent war that has been raging on for months.

Samsung and Apple have been in a patent war that has been going on for months, but Samsung are still making chips for Apple.

Both Samsung and Apple said they would not comment on their deal.
